Biscuits:

Gipsy Creams
Golden Shortbread

 

Gipsy Biscuits


4oz. Self-raising flour,          3 teasp boiling water
2oz. Marg,                            ½ teasp baking soda
2oz. Lard                              vanilla if liked 
3oz. Sugar,                           4 oz. Rolled oats.
1 teasp Syrup.

Cream fats and sugar and add syrup and water.  Add all dry ingredients and mix well.  Make into balls and bake in mod oven .    


Golden Shortbread.

4oz Marg. (or ½ marg. and ½ butter)       2 oz Caster Sugar,
Pinch Salt,                                                 ¼ tesp. Vanilla
6 oz. Plain flour,                                        10z. Ground Rice or Cornflour,
1oz Custard Powder,

Cream marg and sugar, beat in salt and vanilla, add sifted flour ground rice or cornflour add Custard powder and mix well, roll out and cut into shapes prick well and bake 190c., 375f., for about 15min.
